SURGISPON® is a quick and effective haemostat which stops bleeding fast, absorbs approximately 45 times its own weight of whole blood and fluids. Designed for varied intraoperative needs – from tamponade placement to shaping for complex gynaecological sites. Designed to act as an excellent carrier of analgesics, medications & drugs for localized delivery.

INDICATIONS
– Management of acute postoperative pain in Cesarean section wounds
– Minimizing rectus sheath hematoma
– Achieving haemostasis in myoma bed during myomectomy
– Bleeding control in uterine cavity in case of uterine atony
– Bleeding control at placental sites
– For haemostasis outside the uterine cavity
– Bleeding control at uterine sutures or complex obstetric sites
– Episiotomy associated pain

Closure of the myoma bed was started from the angle of the bed with polyglactin suture, absorbable gelatin sponge was applied at the bottom of the myoma bed

At the end of the closure, the serosal surface was seen. In this case the myoma bed was closed in 3 layers, In each layer absorbable gelatin sponge was applied
