SURGISPON® ORTHOPAEDIC
Absorbable Haemostatic
Sponge & Powder

A quick and effective haemostatic agent which stops bleeding fast. It reduces intraoperative bleeding and surgery time. The uniform porosity of SURGISPON® guarantees a favourable haemostasis.

KEY FEATURES & BENEFITS

Absorbs approx. 45 times its own weight of water/oxalate blood
Available in powder putty variant to control cancellous bone bleeding
Biocompatible and fully bioresorbable material
pH neutral, can act as carrier for antibiotics or therapeutic agents
Easily shaped and adapted to bone cavities and surgical defects
Does not cause bone dehiscence like conventional bone wax
Completely absorbed within 4 weeks
Osteoblasts proliferate, differentiate, and infiltrate the sponge’s porous structure, promoting bone growth

INDICATIONS

– Bone grafting
– Total Hip Arthroplasty
– General cancellous bone and soft tissue bleeding control
– Spine surgery
– Aneurysmal bone cyst surgery
– Management of periprosthetic joint infection
SURGERY-IMAGE-1

Circumferential bone grafting using an absorbable gelatin sponge core to fill the intramedullary space of cancellous bone (black arrow)

SURGERY-IMAGE-2

Gelatin sponge placed in the deep lateral wound before fascial closure; similar sponges were used in superficial lateral, deep medial, and superficial medial wounds, if present

Surgi-ORC®
OXIDIZED REGENERATED CELLULOSE HAEMOSTAT

A natural, plant based Absorbable Haemeostat made up of Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose, designed to stop capillary, venous and minor arterial bleeding.

KEY FEATURES & BENEFITS

Completely absorbed within 7-14 days
Low pH induces localized vasoconstriction and creates bactericidal environment
Biodegradable haemostatic material producing localized clot formation
Pliable, rollable design for narrow or deep fields
Conforms easily to complex orthopaedic anatomy and uneven tissue surfaces
Decreases hidden blood loss after joint replacement surgery

INDICATIONS

– Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)
– Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA)
– Fracture fixation surgeries (upper limb, lower limb, axial skeleton)
– Joint capsule and soft-tissue bleeding control
– Osteotomy and cancellous bone bleeding

Oxidized regenerated cellulose was placed on the posterior side of the joint capsule

SURGERY IMAGE 2

Oxidized regenerated cellulose was placed on the suprapatellar bursa

FLOGEL®
Flowable Gelatin Haemostatic Matrix Kit

FLOGEL® Flowable Gelatin Haemostatic Matrix is a flowable, off-white (slightly yellow) haemostatic matrix prefilled in a syringe. It can be applied to bleeding sites occurring in tight and irregular spaces, especially in difficult-to-reach areas.

KEY FEATURES & BENEFITS

Maintains uniform viscosity after mixing with sterile saline/thrombin
Ready to use within 30 seconds after sterile saline/thrombin preparation
Bioabsorbable material typically absorbed within 4 weeks
Hydrophilic, adheres well to wet tissue
Helps to reduces intraoperative and postoperative blood loss
Safe alternative when electrocautery is contraindicated
Supports minimally invasive orthopaedic procedures
Achieve haemostasis in 2-5 minutes

INDICATIONS

– Total Knee Arthroplasty
– Spine surgery and decompression procedures
– Anatomically difficult sites, such as lateral recesses & depths of the intervertebral foramen
– Shoulder arthroplasty
– Treatment of aneurysmal bone cysts (minimally invasive approach)
